All employers with a pay bill of over £3million p.a pay into the government levy at a rate of 0.5% per year. The Levy was set up to help companies fund apprenticeship training and especially to support smaller companies who do not pay into The Levy.
Levy paying companies can claim the total cost of an apprenticeship back from The Levy and non-levy paying companies can also utilise The Levy to cover 95% of the cost to train their employees through the apprenticeship route.
