Lucy Underwood has recently successfully completed the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in 12 months with APA and talks to Nicky from APA about her experience on the course and the effect on her confidence and career.
How has the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate helped you with your job role?
Studying CIPS Level 3 has been immensely helpful in my role. It covers a broad range of areas and has given me the confidence to apply the learning day-to-day and bring stakeholders along on the journey.
What have you enjoyed most about the course?
I’ve really enjoyed the culture at APA – everyone brings their own unique background to the sessions, and the training shows how different procurement can be across sectors and organisations. I also genuinely enjoyed the sessions and looked forward to Tuesday mornings! Lynn was a fantastic tutor and really inspired me with her knowledge and open, inclusive approach, encouraging us to speak up and stay actively involved.
Do you feel you have been well supported on the course by the tutor and APA wider team?
Yes, absolutely. APA are a great team and were always ready to help in any way they could. Thank you so much – it’s been a really positive experience.
What effect has the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate had on your career? What does the future hold for you?
APA helped me unlock my passion for procurement. While working on my final module, I changed jobs – something that was definitely spurred on by learning about the third sector after working in the private sector for over 10 years. Although the fundamentals of procurement are still the same, I’m now able to put my learning into practice in a new environment. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue building my procurement knowledge and progress further with CIPS qualifications.
